William C. Palmer was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago and attended the University of Iowa, from which he graduated with Honors Degrees in Film and English. While doing his normal coursework, Palmer used his recreational time to write, shoot, direct and edit his award-winning horror-comedy short, “BORN FOR DEATH.” The self-distributed Born for Death DVD financed his first feature-length production, the crime-drama “COCKED”, which he completed at the age of 21, as well as the semi-autobiographical comedy short, “AUTEUR,” which was even further well-received on the festival circuit, receiving several awards while screening both domestically and internationally.
Palmer currently resides in Los Angeles. There, he owns and operates Cheap Heat Productions, Inc. His primary income is made as a freelance reality television camera operator for Cheap Heat, but his true passion remains in the fields of writing and directing. He’s recently completed the multiple award-winning shorts, “Blood from a Stone,” and “The Living Want Me Dead.” He’s written feature-length versions of both, and hopes to direct these features as soon funding is secured.
Palmer is a movie-lover through and through. A wildly enthusiastic student of unpretentious genre cinema, he firmly believes the worst, if not only, sin a film can commit is to bore its audience. So far he’s been able to stay out of confession.
